already looked into this a while ago and I found out that the problem is actually on your end either it's sending an invalid port to the directory server or you're an invalid IP address I will host a temporary a grown control routing server until we can find someone that can host it with teen problems. It could be a firewall problem it could be in general not working problem but it's not a software problem so I can't really do anything about it.

The final patch of GC is not giving a CD Key anymore , fix it pls.

I sincerely apologize for how late I've been to looking at this game.

For awhile I could not replicate your problems. Saying that, I could not connect to your Ground Control server; I could join the server I hosted. I kept saying the issue was on your end with that problem, I still believe that issue is..

However today i noticed that i cant even get into the lobby. At the moment i cant seem to figure out why but am looking into how to fix this.

UPDATE:

I just fixed the Create Room function, it works now.

Another Issue i fixed for myself (using 64bit windows) which I will release as a New Patch for GC; The directoryserver addresses needed to be added to the wow6432node folder.

Try everything one more time and post here or email me shefben gmail with whats up.

N3ST and I managed to get his routing and factory servers to work correctly. Possibly this weekend I will create a patch to dss that will use the correct network interface.

i made a temporary patch that just manipulates the gethostbyname winsock function to force the server to use your external ip address. You need a domain pointed to your external ip.

there is a problem with my fix; you cant see the game server in the connections box.
but it does use the ip associated with the domain..
another issue that i have not tested: if the port get mangled because of routing or a firewall (happens sometimes even if its forwared)


if you dont own a domain name, register a free one from no-ip or dyndns
here is the link to download:

instructions:
extract zip into the directory that contains dedicated server.exe

put your domain name in domain.ini
(ie: google.com)

start the server and it should work assuming no ports are mangled



EDIT:
You MIGHT be able to use something like https://hackertarget.com/reverse-dns-lookup/

use your external ip and get the domain from there..

if someone could test this AND a regular domain and let me know if the reverser dns domain works, I would appreciated it! and it would help me develop this patch in less than an hour if it does work Grin
